Love what you do!
When life chooses to through a curved balled at me, I seek inspiration. Some seek alcohol, some sex, some attention but give me straight forward inspiration any day. In the words of Steve Job (having been sacked from his own company Apple): ‘I was rejected but I was still in love.’ I really get that. A relationship ends (mine anyway) but I still love life, my life. Steve Job’s words at a Stanford University commencement ceremony were truly inspiring and simple.
Steve Job reminds us ‘not to settle’ and to ‘love what you do.’ It’s not like we haven’t all heard these words before but how many of us are determined to live that way? How many of us shrink because of what others may think or because it isn’t the sensible thing or to stay comfortable? I have shrunk many times, but I have also stood back up and said, hey this isn’t good enough!
Steve talks about dropping out of university, getting fired from Apple and being diagnosed with ‘incurable pancreatic cancer.’ He considers all of these events gifts.
Watch Steve Job’s Standford Speech
Take 10 minutes to listen to part one and two of his speech. Steve Job isn’t a genius but he is smarter than most. He lives his dreams and I admire that tremendously!! So Steve, I am staying hungry and foolish!
